Below are the highlights of some of Madeline Engle's most recent professional roles. She most recently worked as a Program Assistant for the Software Engineering in Sydney, Australia Dialogue of Civilizations program for Northeastern University, using her coordination, travel and software engineering skills to enhance the education of undergrad and graduate students. She is recently back in the states and is on the search for full time employment.
In her role as a Program Assistant she balanced teaching and coordination in order to create a memorable educational experience for each of the students. In the classroom, her work consisted of evaluating assignments, fostering deep learning, and supervising research. Outside the classroom, she excelled at creating stimulating itineraries for students, with exploration of the city and understanding of its history and culture at the epicenter of their experience.
In her second and final co-op, Madeline was a Machine Learning and Bioinformatics Research Associate for KSQ Therapeutics. Here she was able to apply her NLP background to genomic problems. Her most important project at KSQ was engineering an in-house ML model using a foundational LLM for data analysis and labeling.
In her first co-op, Madeline was a Software Developer for Sabrefish Studios. There she worked on a game using Unity and C#, both tools she self-taught in order to incorporate novel game mechanics. Notably, she developed the in game poetry writing system, where word choice affected the later plot lines.
Past these roles, Madeline has a background in teaching and food service.
